Established in 2011, the Symbiosis School of Biological Sciences (SSBS), part of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), offers Life Science research training under the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. SSBS stands out for its strong research foundation, showcased by an impressive publication record and research grants from various agencies. The curriculum is research-focused, aligning with the National Education Policies and preparing students for competitive exams like CSIR-NET and GATE.
About the Programme
M.Sc. Biotechnology is an oldest programme that was launched in 2011. This interdisciplinary programme offers courses in advanced topics like Stem Cell Biology, Bioprocess Engineering, and Bioinformatics, alongside core subjects such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Immunology. It combines theoretical learning with hands-on lab experience and includes a skill-focused research project to train students in hypothesis drafting, experimental design, data analysis, and publishing.

Eligibility
Graduate in Life Sciences/ Health Sciences/ Biotechnology/ any other Biological Sciences OR Graduate of Engineering in Biotechnology/ Graduate of Technology in Biotechnology from any recognized University/ Institution of National Importance and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes) at graduation.
